Michelle Lawrence is responsible for ensuring the operational and financial initiatives of the Company are integrated and aligned with the execution of the overall business strategy. She has been involved with Kropz's Elandsfontein Project since the granting of its mining licence in December 2013 and has been instrumental in ensuring that socially and environmentally responsible design decisions have been taken throughout the design processes. Michelle has almost 20 years of experience in mining and minerals processing. Prior to joining Kropz, she held various roles in the mining industry including Operations Manager at Impala Platinum Ltd, Design Engineer at DRA Global Ltd and Ausenco Ltd and a Minerals Analyst at Qinisele Resources. She holds an Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town.

Mark Maynard

General Manager, Elandsfontein

Mark ‘Stan’ Maynard is responsible for the management and development of Elandsfontein, including the achievement of specified growth and profitability objectives. Stan has 22 years’ experience in the safe establishment and management of mine infrastructure and diverse teams. He has a BSc Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and has completed management and executive development programmes through the University of South Africa and the Gordon Institute of Business Science. He also holds an Engineers Government Certificate of Competency for Mines.

Patrick Stevenaert [photo]

Patrick Stevenaert

Country Manager, Republic of Congo

Patrick Stevenaert has on-the-ground responsibility for Kropz’s Hinda Project. He has held senior management positions in Africa for the past 24 years in mining exploration, project management and railway operations. He is an electrical and mechanical engineer with a specialisation in aerospace, and is also experienced in business administration. He has managed projects in logistics (rail, road, port, inland terminal), in has experience in key contracts negotiation such as mining investment agreements, port occupancy agreements and gas purchase agreements. Cogniscent of the importance of the social licence to operate, he has dealt with communities and governments, participating in environmental and social impact assessment preparation and expropriation processes, adhering to international best practice. Patrick has worked in the Republic of Congo for 13 years. He is a director of Kropz subsidiary Cominco SA.

Cicil Pfister [photo]

Cicil Pfister

Engineer, Elandsfontein

Cicil Pfister heads up engineering at Elandsfontein and is responsible for ensuring all equipment is reliable and safe. He joined the team in 2017, prior to which he worked at Anglo American Platinum (Ltd), Lonmin plc and Harmony Gold. Cicil holds a Certificate of Competency in Electrical Engineering for Mines and Works, from the Department of Minerals and Resources South Africa.

Aubrey Julies [photo]

Aubrey Julies

Sustainability Manager, Elandsfontein

Aubrey Julies manages the corporate social investment and developments to ensure community commitment, while achieving the company’s sustainability (health, safety, environment) objectives for Kropz Elandsfontein. He has 25 years’ experience in operating and corporate environments, and has worked in the energy, metallurgical, chemical, and mining industries. Previously, Aubrey was Senior Manager Group Environment, Safety Systems and Sustainability Report at Lonmin Plc and also worked for Eskom, Sasol and Glencore. He has a BSc (Chemistry and Microbiology) Degree from North West University and completed the Management Advancement Programme at Wits Business School.

Morake Dawid Hlahane [photo]

Morake Dawid Hlahane

Metallurgical Manager, Elandsfontein

Morake Dawid Hlahane is responsible for metallurgical and production-related optimisation. He has both technical and production experience in the mineral processing sector, beginning his career at Mintek and thereafter holding different roles in the mining industry, at Lonmin plc, Thyssenkrupp Engineering, and Impala Platinum Ltd. Morake has a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg and an MBA from the Tshwane University of Technology.
